Text Box: First, your mother or the mother figure in your life is getting ready to become a grandmother. She may or may not be mentally prepared for this new title. Your grandmother’s role will now change to great-grandmother. Age is a factor our society views in a negative way more often than not. Birthdays and babies are both blessings. But, they are not always viewed as such. If the time should come when emotions run high and nerves are wrecked, consider the fact that everyone involved is mentally adjusting to their new roles in life. Changing roles is not always an easy adjustment to make. Patience and time will help everyone take on their perspective positions in your baby’s life. CHAPTER SEVEN PLAYING THE DATING GAME You are still a young woman, although you have responsibilities usually assigned to a woman older than you are. Life is far from over for you despite parental responsibilities. You probably still have the desire to have a personal relationship with a young man of your choosing. Make sure that you do not let your situation cause you to settle for a person whose lifestyle is less than what you deserve in life. People will judge you, place you in a social category you may not deserve to be in, and identify you by your situation rather than who you really are as a person. Young men will try to take advantage of the obvious fact that you are no longer a virgin. You should be able to recognize sweet talk at this stage of the game. It was probably sweet talk that got you in this situation in the first place.
